Skincare Education Day

Your Summer Skin

The changing seasons have differing affects to our skin, whether it's based on the temperature, or the air that it is exposed to. As we head into the summer months, National Skincare Education Day comes at the perfect time to educate and revaluate how we are nurturing our skin. We start by thinking about the concerns that come during this time of year.

UV Exposure
UV rays weaken the skin barrier and increase the risk of long-lasting damage. If spending lots of time outside, it is important to protect your skin to keep it stronger and more even-toned.

Dehydrated
Heat can cause water loss from the skin, leaving it dry, tight, dull and more prone to irritation. Hydration is essential to maintain barrier function, comfort and overall skin resilience.

Sweat
Excess sweat mixes with oils and bacteria, clogging pores and triggering breakouts. Cleansing regularly helps maintain balance and prevent inflammation during summer.

Facials

Our expert therapists are experienced in treating all skin types, with every facial tailored to your individual needs. By understanding your skin type, concerns and areas you'd like to focus on, they can personalise each treatment and select the most effective products to restore balance, enhance your complexion, and leave your skin radiant and glowing. Our therapists favourites are...

ISHGA Bespoke Marine Facial
This treatment is all about hydration. Using collagen-boosting Hebridean seaweed, it brightens, balances and protects your skin against environmental stressors.

OSKIA Signature Nutri Glow
Using glow-enhancing techniques, this treatment uses lymph draining and acupressure to lift and contour the skin, while an enzyme-rich mask refines and renews.

Your Four Step Routine

Cleanse - we love the ISHGA Active Cleansing Lotion
Serum - our therapists recommend the OSKIA Isotonic Hydra-Serum
Moisturise - our favourite is the ISHGA Hyrda + Marine Cream
Suncream - finish with the OSKIA SPF30 Vitamin Face Cream

Final Therapists Tips

  • It's not ALL about the face! Share your skincare routing with your neck and upper chest too. Your whole body should be moisturised and protected from the sun.
  • Eat and drink your skincare! Using products to stay hydrated is great, but drinking plenty of water is equally as important. It will have a lasting affect on your skin.
  • Stay natural! Summertime plans mean it can be tempting to glam up for the occasion. Keeping your face make-up product free on a hot day will prevent clogging and breakouts.
