The future of staff incentives

Many companies around the country offer a staff incentive programme for their employee as they know how beneficial it can be to have a happy workforce. However, trends for incentive programmes are ever-changing. Companies need to stand out from their competitors and offering an attractive incentive scheme can help accomplish this.
In this article we explore the future of staff incentives.

A more personal approach
A few years ago there was a trend for companies to offer staff cash bonuses, usually target orientated, however 2015 has seen a steady decline in cash incentives and a rise in vouchers, meals and gifts. Gifting your employees with a voucher for a spa treatment, a meal or a round of golf can be seen as far more personal than a simple cash bonus.
To make your life that bit easier when buying an incentive gift for your employees,  all four of our hotels offer a range of vouchers to suit everybody’s taste including a dining gift experience, a golf gift experience, an overnight stay voucher and spa day vouchers.

Employee of the month
Employee of the Month schemes have been utilised in companies for several years, however, the title alone is now not enough. In 2015 most companies awarding Employee of the Month certificates to staff members will now also offer them an overnight stay at a luxury hotel, a spa treatment or a fine dining experience as this can lead to staff feeling incentivised to work harder for a greater reward.

Team outings
Not all businesses feel that singling out one employee to praise per month is an effective incentive tool, which is why team outings are as popular now as ever. Taking a whole department out for lunch or dinner is a popular incentive not only amongst bosses, but also amid team members. This incentive scheme is an effective way to reward your staff as well as encouraging them to socialise and strengthen their working relationships.

An afternoon of fun
The newest incentive scheme growing in popularity is that which allows employees the opportunity to take the afternoon off two to three times a year to take part in a hobby or a sport that they enjoy. Golf, archery, swimming or tennis are just some of the popular activities staff are choosing to do. All four of our hotels have the facilities available to accommodate there and other sporting activities.
