Towards the end of 2011 (happy new year, by the way) I attended a couple of professional photography sessions at our hotels.
Although I am a keen photographer at home, my presence wasn’t required for technical support or photographic expertise - that was left to the professionals. I tagged along to provide direction (or opinion) on subject matter and to make sure that props were in place as required.
My overriding memory from each session was that of aching feet. It stands to reason (excuse the pun) that eight hours on your feet, as opposed to sitting in a comfy swivel chair, would take its toll. The attention to detail that went into each individual shot was also an eye-opener for me. It wasn’t just setting up the camera and equipment but setting up the subject matter…making sure the cushions were plump, that there were no creases in the duvet, that the dipped strawberries had just the right ratio of chocolate to fruit on show……
The results from each photography session were really pleasing and we were delighted with the results. It is extremely difficult to do justice to such beautiful properties with a still image, but hopefully they give the viewer at taste of what we have to offer.
