East Sussex-based Elite Hotels has been named as the first ever recipient of the AA Eco Hotel Group of the Year award.
The prestigious accolade, sponsored by British Gas Business, recognises the group’s environmental initiatives and commitment to sustainability, energy saving and setting recycling targets. The small independent hotel group owns Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club, the five-star Grand Hotel in East Sussex, country house hotel Tylney Hall in Hampshire and five-star Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in Bedfordshire. Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club and Tylney Hall are both AA Red Star hotels, the quality standard awarded for the highest levels of accommodation and customer service.
Elite’s Group Director of Operations, Simon Willis (pictured second left), received the award in front of an audience of more than 700 members of the hospitality industry at the AA Hospitality Awards 2010. The event was held at the London Hilton on Park Lane and hosted by television presenter Penny Smith (pictured left).
