Ashdown Park enjoys a colourful and eventful past. A listed 19th century mansion house, it has been variously a hospital and convalescent home for First World War soldiers, a training house for nuns and an international university. Today, it’s one of England’s favourite country house hotels. Set in 186 acres of landscaped Sussex countryside, it is surrounded by immaculate lawns, secret gardens, lakes and woodland trails. There are 106 bedrooms, each individually styled with views of the magnificent grounds. All rooms have excellent facilities while some have four-poster beds and spa baths.
